Excavators

From standard land excavators to long-reach and amphibious configurations, The Marine Yard carries a substantial owned inventory of excavators suited for dredging, waterfront construction, and heavy marine earthwork.

At The Marine Yard, excavators are a core part of our heavy equipment inventory. As a division of River Salvage Inc., we acquire, operate, and sell excavators that have been used in active marine, dredging, and construction environments — giving buyers honest condition data and real operational backgrounds on every machine.

Our excavator inventory includes standard hydraulic excavators, long-reach configurations for waterway and bank work, and amphibious units built to operate in soft ground, shallow water, and wetland environments. We carry machines across a wide range of weight classes — from mid-size units suitable for tight waterfront sites to large excavators designed for heavy dredging and earthmoving operations.

With our own barge and tugboat fleet, we can load out and deliver purchased excavators by water to sites accessible by inland waterway or coastal route. Inventory turns over frequently — contact us directly for current availability and machine specifications.

Excavator Types

1

Standard Hydraulic Excavators

General-purpose track excavators across a range of weight classes for land-based and waterfront construction, material handling, demolition, and heavy earthmoving work.

2

Long-Reach Excavators

Extended boom and arm configurations purpose-built for dredging, riverbank grading, channel cleaning, and deep-reach work from the shoreline or a barge deck.

3

Amphibious Excavators

Pontoon-equipped excavators designed to operate in shallow water, swamps, wetlands, and soft-ground environments where conventional tracked machines cannot safely work.

4

Barge-Mounted Excavators

Excavators fitted and secured to barge decks for waterway dredging, underwater excavation, and mid-channel construction work — operated as a complete floating unit.

5

High-Reach & Demolition

High-reach boom configurations and demolition-spec excavators for structure removal, bridge demolition, and marine facility teardown at elevation above standard excavator range.

6

Excavators with Attachments

Units available with clamshell buckets, hydraulic hammers, grapples, and dredging attachments — configured for specific marine and construction applications.

Common Uses

1

Dredging & Channel Work

Mechanical dredging of rivers, harbours, marinas, and navigation channels using long-reach or barge-mounted excavators to remove sediment, debris, and accumulated material.

2

Waterfront Construction

Excavation and earthmoving for dock construction, bulkhead installation, shoreline stabilization, boat ramp development, and waterfront infrastructure projects.

3

Wetland & Marsh Work

Amphibious excavator operations in ecologically sensitive areas, wetland restoration, marsh clearing, and soft-ground environments requiring low ground pressure equipment.

4

Salvage & Debris Removal

Lifting, breaking up, and removing sunken vessels, submerged structures, and waterway debris during marine salvage and waterway clearance operations.

5

Pipeline & Utility Trenching

Trenching for subsea pipelines, utility crossings, and underwater cable installation along riverbanks, tidal zones, and shallow coastal areas.

6

Demolition & Site Clearance

Demolition of aging marine structures, pier and wharf removal, bridge teardown, and waterfront site clearance to prepare for new construction or environmental remediation.
