Cranes

From floating crane barges to pedestal-mounted offshore lifters, The Marine Yard carries a substantial owned inventory of marine and heavy-duty cranes available for immediate purchase.

At The Marine Yard, cranes are one of the most consistently in-demand categories in our inventory. As a division of River Salvage Inc., we source, operate, and sell cranes that have seen real heavy-lift and marine work — giving buyers accurate condition assessments and operational history that brokers simply cannot provide.

Our crane inventory spans a wide range of types and capacities — from smaller hydraulic knuckle-boom cranes fitted to work barges, to large pedestal-mounted and lattice-boom cranes capable of heavy lifts in demanding marine environments. Whether the crane is destined for a barge deck, a waterfront facility, or a construction site, we carry options across a broad spectrum of lift ratings and configurations.

Because we operate our own barges and tugboats, we are also uniquely positioned to handle load-out and delivery of purchased cranes — directly from our yard, on our own equipment. Inventory changes frequently — contact us for current availability and specifications.

Crane Types

1

Pedestal Cranes

Fixed and rotating pedestal-mounted cranes for barge decks, offshore platforms, and waterfront installations. Designed for high-cycle marine lifting with robust slew and hoist systems.

2

Lattice Boom Cranes

Heavy-duty lattice boom cranes for large-capacity lifts on construction sites, marine yards, and floating platforms. Extended reach with high load ratings across the boom arc.

3

Knuckle Boom Cranes

Hydraulic articulating knuckle-boom cranes for work barges, utility vessels, and tight-space marine operations. Compact footprint with flexible reach and precise load control.

4

Crawler Cranes

Track-mounted crawler cranes for yard, shoreside, and amphibious use. Stable on soft ground and uneven terrain with broad lift capacity ranges suitable for heavy marine construction work.

5

Clamshell & Dragline Cranes

Purpose-configured cranes with clamshell or dragline attachments for dredging, sediment removal, bulk material handling, and excavation in marine and waterfront environments.

6

Floating Crane Barges

Complete crane barge units — crane and deck barge combined — ready for heavy offshore, salvage, or construction lifting operations. Available as turnkey assets from our owned fleet.

Common Uses

1

Marine Heavy Lift

Lifting and placing heavy structures, vessel components, steel sections, and large machinery in harbour, shipyard, and offshore environments where conventional land cranes cannot reach.

2

Salvage & Recovery

Lifting sunken or grounded vessels, submerged equipment, and heavy debris during marine salvage operations — in coordination with River Salvage Inc. recovery projects.

3

Bridge & Infrastructure

Supporting bridge construction and repair, waterway infrastructure projects, and coastal civil engineering work requiring precision lifts over or adjacent to water.

4

Dredging Operations

Clamshell and dragline crane configurations for mechanical dredging, channel maintenance, harbour deepening, and sediment removal across inland and coastal waterways.

5

Shipyard & Dry Dock

Vessel block lifts, engine and component removal, mast and superstructure work, and general shipyard material handling requiring reliable high-capacity crane coverage.

6

Waterfront Construction

Pile driving support, dock and pier construction, sheet pile installation, and waterfront development projects requiring cranes positioned on water or at the shoreline.

Why Source Your Crane From The Marine Yard

We own and operate the cranes we sell. Every asset in our inventory comes from active marine and heavy-lift work — giving you real history, honest condition, and a seller who knows exactly what the equipment has done.

1

Owned — Not Brokered

Every crane we list is owned by us. You deal directly with the owner — no intermediaries, no inflated pricing, no uncertainty about condition.

2

Real Operational History

Our cranes come from active marine service. We know what they've lifted, how they've been maintained, and what condition they're in — firsthand.

3

Load-Out at Our Yard

We can load purchased cranes directly onto transport from our facility — including onto our own barges for waterway delivery to your site.

4

Wide Capacity Range

Inventory spans compact knuckle-boom units through large-capacity lattice boom and pedestal cranes — options across a broad range of lift ratings and configurations.
